About Dez Labs
We're building an app, DezCareAI, with a clear mission: empower caregivers managing loved ones living with dementia, autism, schizophrenia, and traumatic brain injury. Our mission is to reduce caregiver stress and help dependents gain more autonomy and agency.
The Role
We need a builder who can lead and grow our development team from the ground up. You'll be instrumental in taking DezCareAI from prototype to production-ready platform, shaping both the technical architecture and building the team that will scale with us.
Your Scope:
Work closely with the founder to...- Define technical architecture and product roadmap
- Build and ship features based on pilot user feedback
- Set up and manage the development budget (infrastructure, tools, contractors)
- Make key technical and hiring decisions as the team grows
- Establish development processes, workflows, and engineering culture
- Present at pitches, demos, and product launches
- Drive the product from prototype to production-ready platform
Your Impact:
- Lead and grow the fullstack development team as we scale from founding team to full engineering org
- Own and manage the entire development pipeline from planning to deployment
- Drive technical decisions from architecture to deployment
- Recruit, mentor, and develop engineering talent
- Build features that directly improve the lives of caregivers and their families
- Ship fast, iterate based on user feedback from our Singapore pilot program
- Represent the technical side at investor pitches and product launches
A) Technical Experience
Required:
- Deep technical experience in software engineering and product building from prototype to full-scale app
- Proficiency with React and modern web development practices
- Experience with Neon (Postgres) or similar database technologies
- Cloud infrastructure expertise (Google Cloud and/or AWS)
- Mobile app development and deployment
- Agile/Sprint methodology
- AI/ML engineering background
- IoT experience and embedded LLMs
- Healthcare tech or assistive technology experience
Bonus:
- Prior experience in robotics & AI
- Experience as a technical founder or in early-stage startups
B) Leadership & Management:
- Proven ability to lead, mentor, and grow development teams
- Manage development budget and resource allocation (cloud infrastructure, tools, services)
- Experience managing development pipelines and workflows
- Proficient with Jira for project tracking and sprint management
- Strong with Notion for documentation, roadmapping, and team collaboration
- Comfortable presenting at pitches, demos, and product launches
- Can drive technical and product decisions independently
- Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
